Present conference is dedicated to selected projects and research conducted by postgraduate students from the UMCSAWM project.  This demonstrates the impact of ESD program and the efficiency of transformation as a result of the empowerment efforts.

Conference proceedings demonstrate the comprehensiveness of the application of knowledge and analytical capability to provide environmentally sustainable solutions to real life problems.  The papers show the consideration of both socio economic development and environmental sustainability, use of a systems approach to demonstrate how to evaluate water infrastructure development alternatives.  Hence revealing the scalability and applicability of UMCSAWM-ESD model beyond Sri Lanka and in the South Asian Region.

This event projects the quality of water resources management research and projects carried out by postgraduate candidates from the University of Moratuwa.  The large number of example PBL projects carried out by students from various practicing backgrounds, nationalities and regions proves the replicability of the UMCSAWM approach to sustainable water resources development and ESD
