The experimental facility which facilitates many aspects of water research incorporate several electronic tools that are capable of sensing, data capture, transmission and storage.
Soil moisture experimentation facility of UMCSAWM which incorporates cutting edge technology is with two settings. One with the use of Research Grade but expensive electronic equipment and the other is with low cost non-research grade electronics. The intention is to compare the data and accuracy from each of these applications. Such results will provide comparisons and enable optimization of equipment and methods considering the affordability of small-holding farmer communities who are common in the South Asian region.
